The Bondi Behaviourist Team and How We Can Help You

Whether you are starting your journey with a new pup in your life or need support in transforming your current life with your dog we are here to help.

We have helped over 4000 people and their dogs since 2015 across Sydney using practical, effective and positive training methods and behaviour modification.

Our fundamental priciples are:

  • While the unwanted behaviours are the problems that people call us to help them with, ultimately they are symptoms of the real underlying issues

  • The underlying issues are a combination of a breakdown in communication, the emotional state of the dog and the enrichment needs of the dog being unfulfilled

  • We start at the root cause of the issues, assess where we need to steady and build the foundations and build from there

Our team is passionate about the wellbeing of our dogs and the people that care for them and has co-founded the C.A.R.E. approach to training and behaviour.

The C.A.R.E. approach is an acronym for Communication, Advocacy, Relate & Enrich and is what underpins everything we do as we help people achieve their goals of a healthy relationship with their dog, healthy emotional regulation and brining the joy back to living with our best friends.

If we can build communication skills with our dogs that allow for both ends of the leash to be heard then the whole family will feel heard and loved. This means more than obedience and commands. When we communicate with our dogs we must do so with clarity, kindness, patience and empathy.

When we advocate for our dogs needs and our own as dog owners then we will set everyone up for success and decrease unwanted behaviours. This means taking responsibility for where we take our dogs, who and what they are exposed to and for how long and not putting the blame and responsibility back on them.

We understand that our dogs are family members and that we must relate to them when handling unwanted behaviours, we often get called for the symptoms of the problems such as barking, jumping, aggression etc but the reality is that the underlying emotional state of our dogs is the underly root cause of these behaviours and where we must look if we are going to make meaningful impact in the work that we do.

And finally we must look at our dogs enrichment needs like we do our own. This is more than just food puzzles and Kongs, we learn at the If we learn what the enrichment needs of our dogs are and how to meet them we will begin to meet their fundamental needs. We will see a decline in unwanted behaviours and learn how to resolve them with effectively while improving the quality of life for both you and your dog.

In the Bondi Behaviourist Academy, whether you are starting a new life with your new pup or looking to transform your current situation, we teach you how to implement the C.A.R.E. approach to build healthy relationships, emotionally stable dogs and bring the joy into your life with your dog.

Our team is full of qualified trainers and behaviourists and we continue to grow our education year after year. We are recommended by many leading industry professionals not only here in Sydney but in the USA, the UK, Canada and the world over. We have seen first hand, an meteoric increase in behaviour issues and the demand for support with dog behaviour and it continues to only go up year after year. The way that we live with our dogs is evolving and as it does we must adapt our approach to ensure the wellbeing of all involved.

We love what we do and we’re proud of the way we do it. We have helped thousands of people live happier and healthier lives with their dogs and our family of advocates is growing every single day. We can’t wait to help you live a healthy life with your dog.
